Thiruvalla is a town located in the Panamthitta district of Kerala and is the Mandal headquarters of Thiruvalla Taluk. It is also known as the “Cultural Capital of Travancore” and is spread over a total area of 27.94 Sq. Km. It is situated on the banks of rivers Manimala and Pamba and is also surrounded by canal streams like Chanthathodu, Manippuzha, Mullelithodu and more. The name is derived from the Malayalam word, “The Land of Great Lord Vallabh.” The town is part of the Pathanamthitta Assembly constituency and the Lok Sabha constituency. The Thiruvalla is surrounded by Varattar Bridge in the south, Lappalam in the north, Parumala in the southwest, Pullad in the east, Neerattupuram in the west. Tiruvalla Railway Station is the only railway station located in the town. Cochin International Airport is located 105 km from Thiruvalla and Trivandrum Airport is located 126 km from the town.
